Vesselin Dimov, M.D. - Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Dimov is staff physician in the Section of Hospital Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic working as a full-time clinician but he also finds time to keep his interest in information technology alive and flourishing. He is the creator of ClinicalCases.org, an online case-based curriculum of clinical medicine, which receives thousands of page views daily and was featured in the BMJ (British Medical Journal) and on the medical portal Medscape.com (owned by WebMD). Dr. Dimov is the driving force behind the website of the Section of Hospital Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. His work on illustrating clinical procedures step-by-step is referenced in the largest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia. His posts about using the Web 2.0 approach in medicine, HIPAA rules and case reports, among others, were featured in many editions of the online Grand Rounds and were cited in BMJ.
Dr. Dimov has been one of the leading investigators in multiple international research projects in the field of asthma, hemophilia, ITP, and the West Nile virus infection.
His latest research projects are focused on postoperative acute renal failure and beta-blockers use in perioperative medicine.
